Next generation human character control
Human character control has always been a challenging task in game development, but this has been changing in recent years. New technology enables making animations that are more realistic on a budget. In this talk we will discuss the latest advances in interactive human character animation and control including budget body tracking, artificial behaviour and physics interaction. This is an important development for virtual reality, but can be used for any environment with human characters.
Studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam and hold a Ph.D Computer Science from the Radboud University Nijmegen. After working 15 years as a consultant for mission critical systems, he found out that it was finally possible to create his childhood dream: virtual humans. His software solutions enable developers of 3D environments to use interactive full body avatars. The combination of techniques from animation, robotics, artificial intelligence and psychology results in avatars with unprecedented abilities.
