Developing apps for sensors and connected devices
With connected devices on the rise, app development is going well beyond creating a few screens. How does external hardware behave and what is its impact on app development? In this talk we go in depth on what it means for an app developer to communicate with devices like lightbulbs, hearing aids and iBeacons. We’ll see that an app developer has massive impact on a hardware related project and you’ll walk away with learnings from real life projects.
Mathijs Kadijk creates apps at Q42 and is involved in the development of indoor positioning for Tate Modern, a connected hearing aids project and building sensor support into the Philips Hue app. He also connected the Q42 office door so you can unlock it with your public transport card and is the creator of the open source tool R.swift.
